About Our School

At Washington, we reach hearts to educate minds by building relationships with our students and their families through a variety of diverse efforts such as classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, supportive school environment and involvement in the community, so they can be empowered in a challenging world.

Patriot strong!

Students at Washington Elementary School are guided by a classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, courtesy, and acceptance of others. The school’s discipline philosophy is built around a mixture of ideas from “Character Counts,” “RISE" and positive behavior intervention systems that promotes a safe school, a warm, friendly classroom environment, and demonstrates that positive discipline is a solid foundation on which to build an effective school. The goal of Washington Elementary School’s culture is to provide students with opportunities to learn self-discipline through a system of consistent rewards and consequences for their behavior. Parents and students are informed of discipline policies at the beginning of each school year through classroom orientation and individual Parent/Student Handbooks. Rules are reinforced throughout the year in classroom postings, newsletters, parent meetings, and letters.
