PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Patriot Parents and Guardians!

Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year.  At Washington, we will continue to work on our acronym R.I.S.E. R.I.S.E stands for: Respect,Integrity, Scholarly and Empowered Patriots. We have a strong vision and mission and will ensure that our students are receiving the best education; as well, as social-emotional support. Our vision and mission:

Vision: We will build a positive environment and high achieving students. 

Mission: We will build personal relationships, a supportive environment and create life-long learners who can establish their own path. 

In order for our systems to work, I am inviting parents/staff/guardians to be involved with our school committees and programs. For example, volunteering in the classroom, Student Site Council meetings, English Learner Advisory Committee Meeting, Back to School Night, Open House and other activities we will have this year. Throughout the year, I will have meetings that are held with myself, Assistant Principal, Ms. Hernandez and the community to gather input on the schools needs and will value your input!

We will have our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM where you can learn more on how to help your child during the school year. We will also have our Parent/Student Handbook available online on our school

Here is to having an amazing 2024-2025 school year and we will ALL continue to R.I.S.E.

¡Padres y tutores patriotas!

Bienvenidos de nuevo al año escolar 2024-2025. En Washington, seguiremos trabajando en nuestro acrónimo R.I.S.E. R.I.S.E significa: Respeto, Integridad, Patriotas Académicos y Empoderados. Nuestro objetivo este año será crear un ambiente positivo para que TODOS los estudiantes se sientan bienvenidos y estén emocionados de venir a la escuela. Tendremos reuniones diarias para hablar sobre cómo se ve R.I.S.E en todas las áreas de la comunidad escolar.

Para que nuestros sistemas funcionen, invito a los padres/personal/tutores a participar en nuestros comités y programas escolares. Por ejemplo, voluntariado en el salón de clases, reuniones del Consejo Escolar Estudiantil y Reunión del Comité Asesor de Aprendices de Inglés, Noche de Regreso a la Escuela, Casa Abierta y otras actividades que tendremos este año. A lo largo del año, tendré reuniones conmigo mismo, la subdirectora, la Senora. Hernandez y la comunidad para recopilar información sobre las necesidades de la escuela y ¡valoraré su opinión!

Tendremos nuestra Noche de Regreso a la Escuela el jueves 29 de agosto de 2024 de 5:00 p. m. a 6:30 p. m., donde podrá obtener más información sobre cómo ayudar a su hijo durante el año escolar. También tendremos nuestro Manual para padres/estudiantes disponibles en línea en el sitio web de nuestra escuela: https://www.vusd.org/domain/578
